Glasgow’s latest purpose-built student accommodation reactivates a key site to the west of the city centre and makes a significant contribution to the area’s evolution – from commercial office district to thriving mixed-use quarter.
Glasgow is one of the UK’s largest university cities with student bed demands far outstripping availability. Our new scheme delivers 321 studio apartments across a range of price points, including standard, club, premium and accessible, providing greater choice and affordability, and ideally located for students studying at the University of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian University, The Royal Conservatoire and the Glasgow School of Art.
A distinctive new landmark, the building’s stepped form responds to the sensitivity of its surroundings at the edge of the Glasgow Central Conservation Area. Its façade, with three different shades of green terracotta is a nod to the city’s historic use of ceramics, and complements the warm red sandstone architecture of its neighbours, including category A-listed St Columba Gaelic Church.
Superb facilities include co-working and study areas, a gym, yoga studio, cinema room, games room, meeting spaces, cafés and private dining areas. Outdoors, there are landscaped roof terraces on Levels 7, 9 and 11, offering amazing views across the city, alongside further social, well being and study spaces.
At street level, the public realm has been much improved, with new landscaping, stepped seating and south-facing outdoor areas overlooking St Vincent Street, creating a welcoming environment for both residents and the wider community.
