Hawkins\Brown Emission Reduction Toolkit Terms and Conditions

Overview

This tool is supplied by Hawkins\Brown Architects as a beta version for research and academic use. It is intended for use as a concept stage iterative design tool to carry out comparative studies for finite building elements or whole structures.

The tool was developed in collaboration with University College London’s Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering. All carbon factors are taken from the Bath Inventory of Carbon and Energy 2011 database. Please credit any work using HBERT to Hawkins\Brown and UCL.

Users must ensure that all materials have been properly allocated before running the tool. Results are an approximation. Results should be reviewed by the user, and suitably qualified professionals and Hawkins\Brown provides no warranty as to the accuracy of the results from this tool.

 

Data Processing

By using the tool you agree to data entered being collected by Hawkins\Brown and used for research purposes. The tool will only ever collect the numeric data entered into the materials schedule, and the data entered by the user in the HBERT Inputs window. Data provided by users will be used to help refine benchmarks and further research in this field, and will be anonymised in any future studies or publications. Data will not be shared with anyone without the user’s permission.

Email addresses provided will only be used for communications relating directly to the HBERT tool.

Software Disclaimer

The H:B\ERT tool is supplied as a packaged executable file. This software is provided ‘as is’ without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of fitness for a purpose, or the warranty of non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, Hawkins\Brown makes no warranty that:

– the software will meet your requirements

– the software will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free

– the results that may be obtained from the use of the software will be effective, accurate or reliable

– the quality of the software will meet your expectations

– any errors in the software obtained from the BGS web site will be corrected.

In no event shall Hawkins\Brown be liable to you or any third parties for any special, punitive, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, those resulting from loss of use, data or profits, whether or not Hawkins\Brown has been advised of the possibility of such damages, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the use of this software.

Use of the HBERT software is at your own discretion and risk and with agreement that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from such activities. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from Hawkins\Brown shall create any warranty for the software.

Hawkins\Brown reserves the right to alter the HBERT tool and accompanying information without prior notice.
