Reimagining a heritage asset in the heart of the city

Join Hawkins\Brown, Arup, London Structures Lab, and Castleforge on the Retrofit Agenda stage at Footprint+ for a thought-provoking discussion on the circular economy in the context of Uno, Golden Lane, a Net Zero Carbon redevelopment in the City of London.

Our panel, hosted by architect Praneet Bhullar, will delve into the challenges and opportunities faced by the team throughout the design stages in order to deliver an exemplary sustainable building.

The design for Uno retains 95% of the existing building structure, prioritising the retention and reuse of existing materials as well as the conservation of the building’s heritage. Alterations to the existing structure are limited to the creation of step free access to the main entrance and necessary repairs to the original façade.

Our sustainability team has been helping define the best material options for the roof level extension, including several roof terraces, to minimise embodied carbon emissions. Internal floorspace will be increased by around 19.9% and net lettable floorspace by 11.3%. In all, Uno will offer 10,690 sqm of commercial office space.
