A sensitive conversion of a Grade II Listed Maltings from the late 19th Century into private duplex flats and apartments.
The 32 two bedroom and 15 one bedroom flats are organised around two transparent cores which link the Quayside to Mistley High Street. Inside, the introduction of double-height spaces makes maximum use of the characteristically low ceiling, germinating floors providing simple, liveable spaces whilst retaining the building's original features.
This project was the first phase of the redevelopment of the industrial buildings around Mistley Quayside to create new homes, restaurant/ bars and a permanent base for the Maltings Trust. All the flats have stunning views across the Stour Estuary.
