For Venice Takeaway, Darryl Chen argued that audacious neighbourhood planning can spur an entrepreneur-led economic growth. Against a backdrop of failing high streets and dying neighbourhoods, this event recovers the idea of 'village' as a vehicle for urbanistic experiment. The proposition of a radical entrepreneurial village will be subjected to an invited panel of experts to form a live think tank.
Chen will convene an invited panel who will consult on the idea of the "working village". The panel includes an urban economist, a cultural commentator, an advisor to the Mayor and political historian.
