The Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2017 Winner\

Hawkins\Brown have taken home two awards and a high commendation at this year's Sunday Times British Homes Awards, including the prestigious Architect of the Year accolade.

The Sunday Times British Homes Awards are widely regarded as one of the industry’s most respected accolades. The awards are judged by an independent panel including designers, developers and industry experts. They focus on design excellence and celebrate the quality of the homes and communities being created in the UK.

We are delighted to have won in the following categories:

Architect of the Year - Winner
This special prize is awarded by the judges' and takes into consideration all winning and commended architectural practices. We are proud to have won this special award at the same time as Peabody win ‘Homebuilder of the Year’. This shows that a shared vision of quality and a good relationship between client and architect can produce great buildings.

Development of the Year (Schemes of 200 homes and under) - Winner
Rebuilding St John’s, Burridge Gardens will almost double the residential density, whilst increasing home sizes, as well as creating high quality retail, commercial, community and public space adjacent to Clapham Junction Station. Phase 01, consists of 154 new homes across social rent, shared ownership and private tenures was completed in April 2016. We are very pleased that all the hard work that went into crafting the first phase of St John’s Hill has been recognised.

Apartment Development - Highly Commended

“A quality scheme - with charming brick relief. Addresses the challenge of increasing the density of the former estate whilst maintaining a sense of place and community. ”
