Across Europe a new generation of practices are transforming social housing. Responding to continued high demand, changing clients and new funding methods, architects are once again addressing how homes are delivered at scale, achieving high standards of design and a new focus on city making.
Curated by Karakusevic Carson Architects, ‘Social Housing – New European Projects’ captures some of the best and most innovative examples of affordable housing at a critical juncture for the sector. Drawing together 25 European case studies by 20 practices, it looks at a range of building and dwelling typologies, emerging design approaches, and refurbishment strategies.
Our scheme Agar Grove, is featured in the exhibition at the Center of Architecture in New York, and in an accompanying book 'Social Housing: Definitions and Design Exemplars' by Paul Karakusevic and Abigail Batchelor.
