Having been awarded certification as a Tier 1 Contractor we have been shown to have the necessary standards, methods and procedures in place to fulfil the role of Designer / Lead Designer / BIM information Manager / Employers Representative for all forms of construction projects complying with BIM Level 2 in accordance with PAS1192-2:2013, BS1192:2007+A2:2016 and BS1192-4:2014.
Hawkins\Brown’s experience of using BIM and cross-team three-dimensional modelling is extensive and goes back more than 10 years however it is during the last 4 years that a significant increase in our investment in BIM has been made with fantastic results. Following the Governments BIM Mandate back in 2015 Hawkins\Brown implemented a detailed program which included the up-skilling of all staff through specific training and development and focused advances in our infrastructure with regards to software and hardware in order to deliver projects in line with BIM Level 2 principals.
This detailed program has culminated in our BIM L2 certification award with the BSI which we are incredibly proud of, it demonstrates to our Clients that we have the genuine capability and capacity to deliver projects in accordance with the necessary standards, thus reducing risk, saving time and providing increased project efficiency.
This major step forward for the practice is not the end however, as the standards referenced are to be phased out with the new international ISO19650 later this year Hawkins\Brown aims to be at the forefront of this new international standard and thus maintain our innovative practice appearance.
This wonderful achievement could not have been made possible without the dedicated support from our long standing consultant partners, InfiniteBIM who have helped us immeasurably with regards to training, project support and steering us through the BIM Level 2 Certification process itself. Thanks also to the BSI for carrying out a robust audit which was both engaging and informative.
“To receive certification as a Tier 1 contractor is a fantastic achievement and one we as a practice are immensely proud of. Having such a renowned and respected accreditor such as the BSI conclude we achieved all the necessary requirements is a testament to the hard work and effort that has gone in by the whole team.
Furthermore to have two areas which were identified as ‘Best Practice’ is the icing on the cake. The goal going forwards is to now implement the standards, methods and procedures on all new projects in order to provide our clients with the highest levels of project efficiency whilst also reducing risk and saving time.”
