Agar Grove Phase 1a is crowned Overall Winner at the NLA Awards!\

We are over the moon to have been crowned Overall Winner at the NLA Awards 2019 for our sustainable community investment project Agar Grove Phase 1a at the annual awards lunch yesterday. We also won the Sustainability Prize for the same project.

NLA Awards are organised by New London Architecture and supported by the Mayor of London to honour the best architectural schemes in the capital. The winners were chosen by an international panel of architecture, urban design and planning experts. We are so pleased to have Agar Grove Phase 1a recognised as the best new building in these influential awards. With community regeneration and social sustainability at the heart of it, the project was praised for its ‘radical’ nature, particularly for social housing.

The scheme delivers affordable and energy-efficient homes for the London Borough of Camden, and is the first phase of a 500 home masterplan with Mae Architects. The homes are built to Passivhaus standards for the entire estate, with fuel bills predicted to be 90% lower than an average home. Extensive community consultation formed and guided our brief and all existing residents have the option to only move once, straight into their new home.

Agar Grove Phase 1a will feature in an exhibition amongst other winning projects at the New London Architecture Galleries at The Building Centre, London WC1 from 31 July to 1 November.

Seth Rutt, Partner at Hawkins\Brown, will also be presenting a breakfast talk alongside other members of the project team on 2 August.
