Taking place at the Civic Hall in Leeds on the 19th June, Transforming West Yorkshire 2018 brings together a panel of speakers central to some of the most exciting developments happening in West Yorkshire.
Representing City & Provincial Properties, Katie Tonkinson Partner at Hawkins\Brown, will provide an overview of the regeneration plans for the Kirkgate area in the heart of Wakefield. Recently granted planning, Rutland Mills is a mixed use, regenerative scheme that repairs and repurposes a complex of Grade II listed textile mills located along the waterfront next to the Hepworth Gallery. The creative, arts led masterplan includes a new four-storey building, riverside pier, and public realm creating a large open air events space, with the potential to create additional space for new shops, a hotel, conference and education space, a microbrewery and much more.
The panel of expert speakers will include; Merran McRae, Chief Executive of Wakefield City Council, Cllr Barry Collins, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economy at Calderdale Council, David Frohnsdorff, Director at Castleford Riverside Regeneration Ltd and Ummar Hanif, Regional Manager for Capital Investment at the Department for International Trade.
