Ryoko joined Hawkins\Brown after working on a range of national and international projects in award-winning studios in London and Tokyo.
Having worked on numerous educational and community projects, her passion lies in designing directly with and for the end-users, especially children, converting the brief to concept and realisation. She is fascinated by the history of pedagogy and school design in the UK and abroad, and secretly collects post-war Building Bulletins for schools.
In her spare time, Ryoko is an enthusiastic cook, currently occupied in the art of preservation and fermentation. She also enjoys bouldering at weekends suffering muscle aches for days afterwards.
