Nii has expertise working on both educational buildings and laboratories in which each discipline, brief and building requires a different approach. Her background in interior design and urban design ties together strategic vision and realization of creative but practical design.
Nii gained Distinction for her Art and Design course at the Central Saint Martins’ and graduated with First Class degree in BA (Hons) Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, before completing her Masters in Housing and Urbanism at the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
During her studies at the AA, she extended her passion for architecture at an urban scale. She believes in the importance of social, cultural and historic context on projects from micro to macro, and this is reflected in her work.
She has also contributed to studies in emerging urban strategies for the reconstruction of the Tohoku area after the catastrophic Tsunami in 2011.
Nii’s architectural interests go beyond the built environment to include art, design and spatial interventions. Her creative side is expressed through in her passion for painting, music and dance, and she sometimes gets invited to produce art installations for events in the UK.
