Qualifying as an architect in 2000, Nicky has since completed over 20 built projects across the residential, education, arts, community, and workplace sectors.

She now co-runs a studio of 24 architects and assistants within Hawkins\Brown, who work on a mix of projects at different scales and stages of design, as well as overseeing the strategic development of the workplace sector. Always calm, Nicky is a fantastic motivator of people, and knows how to get the best out of a team.

Her most recently completed project is Here East, a 1.2m sqft Tech Hub at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which has recently won the British Council of Offices (BCO) award for best refurbished / recycled workplace in the London region. Other recent projects of note include Kora in Eindhoven and Regent’s Wharf in Islington.

A former trustee of the Twentieth Century Society, Nicola has a particular interest in post-war buildings, and is currently working on a research project that pulls together case studies of large scale industrial buildings re-purposed for workspace at an international level.

Nicola is a judge for the York Design Awards and a regular contributor to architectural and design publications.
