Before joining Hawkins\Brown, James worked on a wide range of projects with Stephen Taylor and Julian Cowie Architects, from the refurbishment of listed shops to the development a new city quarter.
James graduated from London Metropolitan University where his diploma project focused on recuperating the city fringe site through an ensemble of civic, cultural, and commercial buildings using Farringdon Crossrail station as the driver. This interest in urbanism has led to involvement in exhibitions for English Heritage. Whilst studying at Kingston University, James was involved in testing the ‘London Housing Design Guide’ with proposals in Croydon.
A keen amateur photographer, James enjoys cycle touring, preferably with camera and sketchbook close to hand.
