Ben is an Architect at Hawkins\Brown. Having several years’ experience working on a large variety of projects, Ben has a focused career path within the infrastructure and transport sector. Prior to joining Hawkins\Brown, he worked at Foster + Partners, where he was part of a large multidisciplinary team designing a new integrated public transportation system for the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Currently Ben is undertaking a construction support role delivering the architectural design for the new Crossrail 1 station at Tottenham Court Road. His proven strong architectural design and project management abilities on complex infrastructure projects allow him to conduct a lead co-ordinator role between the many stakeholders on this project. He has extensive experience navigating design and delivery through all RIBA work stages, Network Rail ‘GRIP’ stages and Crossrail ‘Gate’ assurance processes.
A graduate of Newcastle University, his thesis focused on Spain’s substantial investment in high speed rail and how the events of the global financial crisis threatened its success. Ben embarked upon an exploration of how and if large scale, nationally significant projects can balance the different and often competing needs of environment, social and economic limitations faced by society.
Ben has a strong passion for the arts and how their integration can contribute to a better built environment, no matter what the scale or complexity of a project.
During his spare time, if he isn’t planning his next big travelling adventure, he can be found running around London training for his next marathon or triathlon.
