Ben joined Hawkins\Brown as a Part 2 architect after graduating from the Manchester School of Architecture with a distinction (March). Ben was nominated for the RIBA President’s Silver Medal for his thesis project ‘The Power of Ten’ which was an urban-scale industrial sanctuary and knowledge depository based on evolutionary and biological principles. Research elements which formed the early stages of Ben’s thesis project were presented at an international conference.
Ben is fascinated by interactions in architecture and has carried out significant research into the ways that people interact with the built environment culminating in a month-long event that he hosted for undergraduate students at the Manchester School of Architecture which allowed the students to explore spaces in a fully-immersive virtual reality environment.
In his spare time Ben enjoys real-time digital visual performance, technology, various sports and is also a keen musician.
