Alex joined Hawkins\Brown shortly after completing his MSc in Architecture at the Aalto University, Helsinki. He previously studied Architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture.
He has an interest in engaging with the social and cultural aspects of architecture and explored this in his master’s thesis which was a design for a new dementia care home typology. This included an inter-generational care model based on engagement with local primary schools to foster greater well-being in care homes. Alex has also been involved in the RIBA Schools program as an Architectural Ambassador working with secondary school students on a project following the RIBA ‘Creation from Catastophe’ exhibition.
Outside of work Alex enjoys climbing and escaping to the Finnish forest.
